    Spam Comments

I have been receiving a number of spam comments on my blog lately... posts which ask viewers to click on a link and which somehow doesn't seem to have any relation to the post at all! Merely a "Click here, or here" kind of post!

First time I received one of these comments I thought it was a genuine post and clicked. Immediately my virus protection popped up with warnings. So since I have deleted these posts every time I see them. Yet they keep on coming! So, although I do not wish to do so I think I had better set up some form of control.

I have set up the word verification option from within blogger itself and apologise if this causes any inconvenience to any genuine person wishing to place a comment!

    Thanks for listening!

    COLOURS OF THE SKY

    We are small shadows
Ristoroin of this vast and arid desert.

Querce with huge deep roots throughout the madeboli
Branches that are struggling against wind storms.
We are the voice of those who did not forget, the beat of hearts that chases infinity,
White sheets on which fly the passions of a desire for life that never calms down.

    We live among the murmuring
And the cries of eyes on travelling wave foams, and
S'infrangono that on the rocks Dream then finding shelter on remote islands
    And unattainable.

We have lots of words but no power, rubiamo colors of the sky for respirarne the blue and we
Trafiggiamo the heart with soul unconscious, against the sharp blades of tall gates.

Never could close the doors to the evil that tries in vain to erase our voice.
We water disseta this arid desert ...... poor singers a melody contained in our hearts, poets dream that will not

    ...... NEVER END.

    UN SALUTO Dll'italia ..lina

    I COLORI DEL CIELO

    Noi siamo piccole ombre

Hi Mike! I have also received a couple of these spam comments! The first time I thought it was a genuine comment but the same thing happened! The antivirus popped up...fortunately that is; now I just delete them as soon as I see them.

Wordpress uses a spam filter automatically in the background of our blogs called Akismet. It's filtered 10,000 bits of spam from my fiction site so far. Even so, every once in a while a bit gets through, but they're usually pretty easy to spot. It's also true that some genuine commenters end up in filter, so I always look over the day's catch for familiar names. That word verification service is dandy, but it is a real nuisance, on top of having to identify my google/blogger name or back-verify to Wordpress. Spam must be really profitable to make it worth all this trouble!

    Hi Dave,

Thanks for the input. I've checked around on Blogger's Help Section and it seems that apart from the word verification (captcha I believe it is called) there doesn't seem to be much else I can do other then delete the comments as they appear!

Sorry about the hassle due to the word verification!
